My inspiration for painting often comes from nature. Cairns are stacks of stones placed with a meditative artistic hand, and balanced using nothing more than the natural gravitational pull of the earth. They’re often used as trail markers for hikers to find their way. I found them throughout my childhood and felt the need to paint them years later as I continue to look for direction and meaning in life.
